Pennies for Pets
Pennies for Pets is a fun and meaningful way to teach children the value of helping others, while fundraising to support pets in need.
Pennies for Pets is a fun and educational fundraising activity for children and young people. Participants are encouraged to do helpful chores or kind acts for friends, family or neighbours in exchange for small donations – all to support Blue Cross and the pets we care for.
How it works
1. Register
Fill in the form below to sign up an individual, school group or organisation. This will need to be completed by an adult.
2. Download our Pennies for Pets fundraising pack
Once registered, you’ll receive all the information you need via email. This will include a sponsorship form to keep track of donations, a participation guide with step-by-step instructions and a poster for school or group displays.
3. Earn pennies for pets
Children can earn pennies for doing good deeds in their community to raise money to help pets in need at Blue Cross. Be creative and inventive – but please don’t involve your pets in any tasks (unless it’s something like a safe, sponsored dog walk!).
4. Collect donations
Collect your pennies with the help of the sponsorship forms provided.
5. Donate your total
You can donate your total to Blue Cross in two ways:
- Online – donate your total online by selecting ‘fundraising, sponsorship or collection’ as your donation source. If you are taking part as a group, please select the option to donate on behalf of group or organisation.
- Bank transfer or paying-in slip – if you’d like to pay this way, please email us for full instructions
6. Receive your certificate
Once your donations have been received, contact us to claim your child’s personalised certificate to show the impact they have made by helping pets.
Who can take part
Any young person who wants to help pets in need can take part in Pennies for Pets, within their families or as part of a group, including:
- primary and secondary schools
- youth clubs and community groups
- home-educated children and families
- foster children and carers
Note
Please ensure that all chores are appropriate for the child’s age and ability and that an appropriate adult is aware of or supervising the activity.
