Hello, I'm Ashlie
I'm a 6-year-old Domestic Short Hair from Rolleston rehoming centre and I'm looking for my forever home. Please read my profile below to find out more.
About me
Please meet Ashlie, who is a 6 year-old sweet-natured girl with a shiny black coat. It may take a while for her to get to know you as she is rather wary of new situations, but she has shown how much she has grown in confidence with her home fosterer. Once she feels safe, she enjoys being fussed and brushed, and she loves to chase her wand toy when she’s feeling playful. She will chatter to you with her squeaky little meow, but becomes very excited when she knows you’re about to serve her food!
Ashlie is looking for a calm and peaceful new home where she will be able to live quietly with someone who can give her all the time she needs to settle in. She doesn’t like loud noises or unexpected movement and if she is doesn’t know whether she can trust a situation, she will need a safe place to run to and hide until she feels sure it’s safe to venture out again. She has had some battles with her health and must follow a strict diet to maintain her recovery so a calm environment is also crucial to help her to remain stress-free and happy.
If Ashlie could speak, she would no doubt say is that she’s looking for a home where she can be allowed to get to know you at her own pace, but your patience will be rewarded as she is a beautiful, sweet cat. All she really wants is love and affection from someone who will be devoted to her. However, she is quite self-sufficient and is content to spend a good deal of time relaxing on her own. She can be left for several hours at a time so she wouldn’t mind if her new owner had work commitments if she can have some attention when she wants to be more active later in the day and in the evenings. She takes good care of herself and regularly uses her litter tray and scratching post, but once settled, she would enjoy having access to a nice safe garden in a low traffic area to explore outdoors, though she probably wouldn’t wander very far or stay out for too long. A sunny windowsill where she can sit up high and see what’s going on outside or have a little snooze is also on her wish list. If you think that you have the time and patience to offer Ashlie the second chance she so hopes for, we are sure you won’t be disappointed. Ashlie needs a very special home so if you think it might be with you, then please fill in a home finder form. Thank you for taking the time to read her story.
